What Does Snow Day Mean to You?

Hello Friends,

Funny how 2 little words can mean 2 completely different things depending on your perspective.  Take the words SNOW DAY, for instance.   Do those words spark the same delight as my grandson, Grady, expresses in his video?

Or are your thoughts more in tune with this "just breathe" card?   Stamping supplies can be like that too.  This sunny "Just Breathe" card was made with the same supplies as ....

Colorful Seasons Stampin' Up!

this "Have a wonderful Adventure" card.   Using the same supplies and I made two totally different cards.  Which one do you relate to best? When you hear "Snow Day" announced on the radio or across your T.V. screen, what's your reaction?  Are you curious what today's card supplies were?

Card Making With Robin Feicht

Card Design Tips

Both cards were stamped using the Sea of Textures and the Colorful Seasons stamp sets along with their coordinating dies, Under the Sea and Seasonal Layers.  I limited myself to 3 inks: Tuxedo Black, Gray Granite and Balmy Blue.

My Paper choices were also limited.  I used Gingham Gala Designer Paper along with Balmy Blue, Gray Granite and Thick Whisper White card stock.

I used 3 additional supplies to make my cards.  Dimensionals gave my cards the extra pop that they needed.  Gingham Gala Adhesive-backed sequins and Silver & Pool Party Baker's Twine brought in the party and the shine to my cards.

Extra Card Design Tip:  For the Snowy Adventure Card, I splattered Gray Granite ink across my card front to bring it to life.

Spirited Snowmen Black Friday Sales for Paper Crafters

IMG_2574

Hello Friends,

This week we were gifted with a morning of great big fluffy snowflakes.  My grandkids from Georgia are here visiting Nana and Papa while their parents celebrate their 10th Anniversary.  You can just imagine their delight to see the marvelous big white flakes spilling from the sky.  Their first request of the morning was "Can we play in the snow?".  I readily agree.  After all, it's only November here and the snow was likely to be gone by afternoon.  There was something magical about that morning watching the pure pleasure on their little faces.  For a moment in time, it was like we were swept away into our own little snow globe.  Anyway, all that to say, I just had to play with my Spirited Snowmen and Beautiful Blizzard stamps last night while they were tucked in the beds.

Plus, Joe and I are celebrating 39 years of marriage this week and the charming snowman couple for perfect for an Anniversary card.

Card Design Tips

My background was stamped with Pool Party Ink and the Beautiful Blizzard Stamp set.

I colored my snowman couple with Stampin' Blends.  Then, fussy cut them and mounted them on a bit of Tranquil Tide Velvet Ribbon and a pearlized doily.

The snowflakes were cut with the Blizzard Thinlits Die.  This is a very intricate and beautiful die.  What I've found when using this die is that it works better if the cut side is facing up with the card stock on top rather than face down with the card stock under it.  It's also helpful to use the precision plate when using intricate dies.

The final bit of dazzle is a few scattered Basic Adhesive-backed sequins.

As always, there's a Clickable Link supply list at the bottom of this post for your shopping convenience.
