Country Home German Smear or White Brick Look

Country Home German Smear CardHello Friends,

Today's card mimics a hot trend in Home Decor, German Smear or White Brick.  To achieve the German Smear look on a card, I simply dry embossed Crumb Cake Card Stock with the Brick & Mortar embossing folder, then I applied Whisper White Craft Ink unevenly across the surface.  The milk can bouquet was stamped with the popular Country Home stamp set by Stampin' Up!.

I tried two different ways to present my milk can bouquet.  Which way do you like best?  Vote in the comments below.  For the sample above, I stamped the bouquet on my stitched oval, then colored and added a popped up milk can.

For the second sample, I stamped and fussy cut both the bouquet and the milk can and popped it up.  For both samples I stamped Simply Thankful on Purple Posy card stock and fussy cut around my words then popped the whole thing up with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Making Cards with Punches

Apple & Daisy Punches

Hello Friends,

Inspiration for today's Autumn Thank You card came from my own backyard.  Our apple trees are heavy with apples and our meadow is dotted with Black-eyed Susans.   And it just so happens that I have punches to make both apples and Black-eyed Susans.

I love making cards with punches.  Cards made with punches are simple to make and cost-effective.  Did you guess which punches I used for making today's card?

Making Cards with Punches

Autumn Punch Art Card Tips

Punch 2 apples using the Apple Builder Punch.  Then, punch 3 Black-eyed Susans using the Medium Daisy Punch.  Hint:  It's best to use an odd number of elements for an attraction display.

Assemble flowers and apples, then begin arranging on your card.

My background piece was stamped using Balmy Blue Ink, then embossed with my Corrugated 3D Embossing Folder.

The Pressed Petal Washi Tape across the top pulls everything together.

Cup of Christmas Sneak Peek

Cup of Christmas Stampin' Up!
Hello Friends,

One of the things that I like to do with Holiday Preorder stamps is to challenge myself to use them in nonholiday ways.  Today's card is an example of that, I used the Cup of Christmas stamp set to make a Thank You Card that could be used year-round.  I was especially excited to try the Cup of Christmas stamp set because it is a patent-pending stamp set.  The cup stamps are reversible!  You can stamp with either side of the stamp.  How cool is that!  Naturally, the coordinating Cup of Cheer dies will cut out the stamped cups no matter which side of the stamp you choose to ink up.

I stamped my card base with my Birch Background stamp and Gray Granite ink to make a pretty background.

Next, I stamped righty and lefty cups with Flirty Flamingo and Night of Navy inks.

The "thankful"  is a word from the Country Home stamp set.  I simply fussy cut around the word for a different look.

The rest of my card elements were cut with my Cup of Cheer and Stitched Shapes dies.  Don't you just love the Mint Macaron sprigs?

Watch for the Cup of Christmas stamp set to be used is a Christmasy was soon.
