Dino Days Handmade Beach Card

Dino Days Stampin' Up!

Hello Friends,

Summer weather is here!  Which made me wonder what I could do with last year's popular Sea of Textures stamp set and Under the Sea dies combined with this year's fun Dino Days Stamp set and Dino Dies.  The playful dinosaur on the beach is a fun twist for an adventurous Beach Themed Card.

Dino Days Stampin' Up!

The pink dinosaur was cut from the Dinoroar Designer Series Paper.  For texture, I cut an array of beachy things with my Under the Sea Dies.  For a pop of color, I splattered Coastal Cabana and Rococo Rose ink.  Then I sprinkled about Noble Peacock Rhinestones.

The palm tree was stamped with the Dino Days stamp set and cut with Dino Dies.  Scroll down for a complete list of supplies.  Enjoy your weekend and watch out for jolly dinos.

What Does Snow Day Mean to You?

Hello Friends,

Funny how 2 little words can mean 2 completely different things depending on your perspective.  Take the words SNOW DAY, for instance.   Do those words spark the same delight as my grandson, Grady, expresses in his video?

Or are your thoughts more in tune with this "just breathe" card?   Stamping supplies can be like that too.  This sunny "Just Breathe" card was made with the same supplies as ....

Colorful Seasons Stampin' Up!

this "Have a wonderful Adventure" card.   Using the same supplies and I made two totally different cards.  Which one do you relate to best? When you hear "Snow Day" announced on the radio or across your T.V. screen, what's your reaction?  Are you curious what today's card supplies were?

Card Design Tips

Both cards were stamped using the Sea of Textures and the Colorful Seasons stamp sets along with their coordinating dies, Under the Sea and Seasonal Layers.  I limited myself to 3 inks: Tuxedo Black, Gray Granite and Balmy Blue.

My Paper choices were also limited.  I used Gingham Gala Designer Paper along with Balmy Blue, Gray Granite and Thick Whisper White card stock.

I used 3 additional supplies to make my cards.  Dimensionals gave my cards the extra pop that they needed.  Gingham Gala Adhesive-backed sequins and Silver & Pool Party Baker's Twine brought in the party and the shine to my cards.

Extra Card Design Tip:  For the Snowy Adventure Card, I splattered Gray Granite ink across my card front to bring it to life.

It's Chic! It's Tropical Chic!

Tropical Chic Stampin' Up!

Hello Friends,

Have you seen the new Tropical Chic stamp set and coordinating Tropical Dies.  They are stylish, snazzy, spiffy, sassy, snappy and sharp.  I was working in my flower beds this morning which made me think of the Tropical Chic Bundle.  Don't ask me why.  I don't live in a tropical climate, but there was a pleasant breeze and the sun was shining.  It was altogether lovely.

Tropical Chic Stampin' Up!

I started by stamping Granny Apple Green Fronds and Petal Pink cuteness.  Then, I backed it with a piece of Petal Pink Card Stock.  The I simply started stamping and cutting.  I'll talk more about colors a little farther down.

Tropical Chic Stampin' Up!

My greenery is all the super cool new Granny Apple Green, though I did pounce a bit of Old Olive onto my Palmetto with my sponge dauber.  And for a bit of variation, I stamped my "thank you" in Old Olive and cut it out with a Stitched Oval die.
Color Throwdown

A Big Thanks to Color Throwdown for today's Color Challenge of Peach, light pink, bright pink and green.  I chose to use Petal Pink for the peach.  I know, the name says pink, but the color says peach to me.  For the pinks, I used Powder Pink and Melon Mambo.  And for the green I used my favorite new green, Granny Apple Green with a hint of my all-time favorite green-Old Olive.

Have a fabulous day,
