So Hoppy Together Stampin' Up!

Buffalo Check Frog Card Details

To make the Buffalo check background, I inked my stamp partially to leave some white space.  Hint:  For best results use your Stamparatus when stamping the Buffalo Check background.

I colored my hoppy frog with my Granny Apple Green and Pineapple Punch Stampin' Blends, then cut a a stitched circle around him using the Stitched Shapes dies.

I couldn't resist borrowing a die from my new Catch of the day die set to add cattails behind my frog.  Stay tuned for more projects using the Catch of the Day Dies and the Best Catch Stamp set later this week.  The Best Catch is a fabulous Bundle for making masculine cards and projects.

I should mention that the lovely organdy ribbon along with 4 other spools of organdy was also also a Free Sale-a-bration product!

Color Challenge and Beautiful Bouquet Card

Beautiful Bouquet Stampin' Up!

Hello Friends,

What's the weather like in your neck of the woods?  Here in Ohio we enjoyed a beautiful spring day filled with sunshine and blue skies.  I even slipped on my sandals.  All this gorgeous weather has me dreaming of spring flowers.  And spring flowers made me think of one of my favorite stamp sets, Beautiful Bouquet.  The Beautiful Bouquet stamp set is brimming with all sorts of flowers and sentiments.

Beautiful Bouquet Stampin' Up!

My imagination runs wild every time I use this 37 piece stamp set and its coordinating dies.

Beautiful Bouquet Stampin' Up!

To start today's card I stamped flowers to my hearts content.  It was really quite therapeutic.  I die cut some of my stamped flowers to add depth and dimension to my card.  I also die cut a couple of ovals in the the center of my card front using my Layering Ovals dies.  Then, I puzzled the pieces back together so that the stamped images line up.  It's really a very simple card making technique that adds a lot of flair.  And finally, to make flowers look sun kissed, I swiped them with my Wink of Stella Brush.

Splitcoast Stampers Color Challenge

My 6 month Splitcoast Stampers Color Challenge Design Team term ends at the end of March. It's been fun working with this fabulous group of ladies.  I'm also this week's Color Challenge hostess.   I chose Old Olive, Daffodil Delight and Pink Pirouette for this week's Color Challenge with Flowers for dessert.  The funny thing is that I found myself wishing that I would have added another color to the challenge, but in the end I really like these colors together.  Hop on over to Splitcoast Stampers  and join us for this week's Color Challenge.

Daffodils, Springtime and Cards

You're Inspiring Stampin' Up!

Hello Friends!  Hello Spring!

It's official, the first of spring is Tuesday, March 20.  What do you think of when you think of spring?  For me daffodils kissed by the sun are a sure sign that spring has arrived, so when I saw the You're Inspired stamp set with its pretty daffodils I simply couldn't resist.

Daffodil Card Tips & Tricks

I watercolored my daffodils with Wild Wasabi and So Saffron inks and my blender pen.  I colored a few extra daffodils to make a fuller bouquet.  Then, I fussy cut them.

For the look of sunshine, I painted my daffodils with my Wink of Stella Pen and added a few Tutti-Frutti sequins.

My background was done with embossing paste and Pattern Party Decorative masks.  Then, I cut a Whisper White square with my Stitched Shapes dies for a white on white background.

What your favorite sign of spring?  Is it daffodils bobbing their heads in the warm spring sunshine?

You're Inspiring Stampin' Up!

It's easy to change up the sentiment with the Classic Label punch.  Simply stamp and punch.   The You're Inspiring stamp set offers 5 versatile sentiments.

This week's Splitcoast Stampers Challenge colors are So Saffron, Wild Wasabi and Marina Mist.  The dessert option is Spring or Easter.  Hope on over to Splitcoast Stampers Color Challenge to join the fun.

snowdrops

Here in Ohio, the daffodils haven't started blooming quite yet, but they are peeking through the ground.  The snowdrops on the other hand are gaily bobbing their heads up through the snow.
