Happy Birthday Chickadee, Good-bye Swirly Bird

Swirly Bird Stampin' Up!

Hello Friends,

First of all, today's the day.  The Stampin' Up! Retirement List will be announced today at 1 PM Mountain Time.  You might be surprised by what's on the list.  Stop back this afternoon and I'll share the list.  This time of year always really exciting because of all the new crafty things coming up in the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog, but it also makes me a teeny bit anxious because I know that some of my crafting supplies will land on the Retirement list.  So it's a time for hellos and a time for good-byes.

While we are waiting for the "list" to be announced, let's have a little fun with the Swirly Bird stamp set and the Swirly Scribbles dies.  My Sister's birthday is this week.  Such an occasion calls for a handmade birthday card.

Cardmaking Tips and Tricks

I cut and colored Swirly Scribbles with my Stampin' Blends.  I used happy spring colors. Can you spot the Granny Apple Green and the Pineapple Punch?  They go so well with the retiring Lemon Lime Twist.  Saying good-bye to the Gingham Gala Designer Paper makes my heart go boo hoo.

For a little shine, I cut the nest from the champagne foil paper and added Gingham Gala adhesive-backed sequins.

To say Happy Birthday, I used my Well Said stamp set and Well Written dies.

I'm not sure when and why I started calling Jill chickadee, but it stuck.  To personalize Jill's birthday card, I spelled out Chickadee with my Make a Difference stamp set.

Have you Heard?

Tell me a secret2 New Stampin' Up! Product Lines are coming!

Here's the inside scoop, Stampin' Up!  announced yesterday that there will be 2 new product lines coming.  Yah!   I also wanted to let you know how these new product launches may affect product availability and your crafting experience.

Die-Cutting and Embossing Product Line

Stampin' Up! is making Big Changes to their Die-Cutting and Embossing Product Line for the best Paper Crafting experience. The Big Shot will not be in the upcoming 2019-2020 Annual Catalog.   Stampin' Up! will be working directly with the manufacturer to bring us a new die-cutting/embossing machine, but it won't be here in time for the catalog launch.  Good things are coming our way.  We just need to exercise a little patience.

New Paper Cutter

Stampin' Up! announce the retirement of our current Paper Trimmer on April 15, because we are getting a NEW Paper-Cutter!

How Will These Changes Affect You?

  • There will be a gap in time from when the Big Shot and the Stampin' Trimmer retire/sell out and when the new Die-Cutting & Embossing Product Line and the new Paper Cutter will be available.  Neither will be available when the 2019-2020 Catalog launches.  We're not sure yet when our new tools will be available, but I will keep you posted.
  • You may wish to stock up on Trimmer Blades to hold you over until the new cutter is available.  Stampin' Up! has ordered an estimated 6 month supply of blades, but the keyword is estimated.  To avoid being disappointed you may want to order your supply soon.
  • You can continue to use your Big Shot or other cutting/embossing machine with all your dies and embossing folders.  No worries there.
  • Watch for new style dies and embossing folders in the 2019-2020 Stampin' Up! Catalog.  The good news is that they will also work with your Big Shot.
  • Dies, embossing folders and trimmer accessories could sell out quickly when the retirement list is announced on April 15, so to avoid disappointment place your order early.
