Modern Farmhouse Paper Crafting?

Painted Seasons Stampin' Up!

Hello Friends,

Joe and I have been on a remodeling kick and I have to admit the whole Modern Farmhouse craze rocks my world.  It's clean!  It eclectic! And it's beautiful!  The Modern Farmhouse look is humble, welcoming, polished and cheerful all rolled into one.  The modern farmhouse look mixes old and new, vintage and modern with a healthy dose of shiplap thrown into the mix.  So how can the Modern Farmhouse look be achieved in Paper Crafting and Card Making?

Painted Seasons Stampin' Up!

Short Answer: Texture with lots of White Space.

What creates texture best in the Paper Crafting World?  Embossing Folders, dies, embossing paste and dimensionals.  Don't forget the dimensionals.  Just a little bit of pop can add so much to a project.

While the texture is fun and beautiful, don't forget to leave lots of White Space for that clean, fresh look.

Design Tips

Does the stamp set look unfamiliar to you?  It's new and it's free starting February 15th with Sale-a-bration. It's the Painted Seasons stamp set included in the Painted Seasons Bundle. On February 15, Stampin' Up! is offering a 2nd Release of fabulous Sale-a-bration products.  Note:  These are in addition to the previously released products.

I stamped the ferns and the sparkle dots in soft subtle colors (Petal Pink and Soft Sea foam), but I couldn't resist a splash of sunshine when I stamped my flowers, so I ink them with Pineapple Punch Ink.  I fussy cut my flowers, but in March you will be able to purchase coordinating dies.

I needed 2 more sets of dies to complete my card.  The first is the wildly popular Be Mine Stitched Framelit Dies.  You guessed it, I cut my hearts with the Be Mine dies.  The second die set is available with a coordinating stamp set and it's all about words.  It's the Well Said Bundle.  With my Well Said Bundle I cut the Soft Sea Foam "miss" and foliage.  I also stamped the word "you".

After stamping on my card  base, I added "shiplap" by embossing my card base with the Pinewood Planks Dynamic Impressions Embossing Folder.

Lift Me Up Tunnel Card

Tunnel Card

Hello Friends,

Do you like to make Fancy Fold Cards?  Interactive Cards?  If you do, you smile at today's Tunnel Card.  The Tunnel Card opens up to reveal a window filled with a mountain scene and hot air balloons stamped with the Lift Me Up and the Waterfront stamp sets.  Learn how to make Tunnel Card with my Tunnel Card Video Tutorial from 5 years ago.

How to Make a Tunnel CardHo

The fun "smiles" background was inked with Balmy Blue and Whisper White inks.  For the oval window I used the largest scalloped Oval from the Layering Oval Dies for the Balmy Blue Window.  The Real Red frame is the Oval that was one size smaller.

Oh So Eclectic Bundle Inspires Creativity

Oh So Eclectic Stampin' Up!

Hello Friends,

Happy Monday!  I like a versatile set with lots of images and sentiments that can be used in lots of different ways.  The Oh So Eclectic Bundle fits that description to a tee.  Would you believe the watercolor look of the flowers is actually just simple stamping?  And the happy pattern on the leaves always makes me smile.  I teamed the Oh So Eclectic Bundle and the Layered Leaves Dynamic Impressions Embossing Folder to  make today's playful and simple card.

Oh So Eclectic Stampin' Up!

The only other things that you need to make this card are a couple of inks, some Whisper White Card Stock and some Stampin' Dimensionals.  Though I must admit that I did use my Stamparatus to make this card even easier to make.  I'll show you this cool Stamparatus technique in a video later this week.  It will totally rock your world!  Plus.....the other good news is that the STAMPARATUS will be available for purchase when the 2018-2019 Stampin' Up! Catalog goes live on June 1!!!

See a few more Oh So Eclectic projects from Stampin' Up! trainer, Shannon West, as she demonstrates many of the eclectic ways that the Oh So Eclectic Bundle can be used to create fun and interesting projects!
