You've Got This Handmade Birthday Card & Envelope

You've Got This Handmade Card

Hello Friends,

Today's one layer card is simply beautiful and easy to make.  Send a ray of sunshine with this handmade card that marries two popular stamping techniques-Heat Embossing and watercoloring.

For my card base, I used a 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" piece of Shimmery White Card Stock scored at 4-1/4".  Love that you can watercolor on the Shimmery White Card Stock and that it shimmers.  Next, I stamped my flower from the You've Got This Stamp set  with Whisper White Craft Ink to frame my birthday wish and  I heat embossed it with White Emboss Powder.  This makes a lovely soft, white outline for coloring.

Watercolored Flower with bling

Next, I washed Daffodil Delight and Old Olive ink inside the outline with my Aqua Painter.  Hint:  Take care to color multiple shades of color.  Did you notice the fabulous bling?  After my flower was dry, I painted over my flowers one last time with my Clear Wink of Stella Brush.  Wow!

Handmade Card Tip

Here's another tip.  Add a pop of interest to you one layer card with panels of color on the inside.  As an added bonus, the interior card stock works to restore shape to a watercolored and/or heat embossed card.

I carried the white embossing over into the inside of my card and to my handmade envelope which I made with the Envelope Punch Board.  My Birthday Stamps are from the Better Together Stamp Set.

Penned & Painted Get Well Card

Penned & Painted Get Well Card

Happy Monday Friends,

It's the good-bye Winter hello Spring time of year.  It's the time of year when I crave pretty flowers and sunshine.  Unfortunately, it's also cold and flu season and time to make Get Well Cards.  This card is going out to friends that are holding down the couch, sick with the flu.  I hope it will brighten their day.

The Penned and Painted stamp set is fabulous for so many reasons.  It's a two-step stamp set that makes beautiful layered flowers.  The flowers can be stamped with an outline like this previous post or they can be stamped to look like a pretty watercolor  bouquet as I did for today's Get Well Card  or...... they can be used for the Color Wash Technique by stamping with just the outline stamps as I did here.

Handmade Get Well Card & Envelope

For today's Penned & Painted Get Well Card and Envelope I skipped the outline stamps and stamped just the flower layers for the soft and pretty look.  I was enjoying the results so much, that I kept on going to the inside of my card and then to the lining of my handmade envelope which I made with my Envelope Punch Board.

Penned & Painted Stampin' Up!

To continue with the light and airy look I made a square frame with the Layering Squares dies and a wispy swirled heart with the Sunshine Wishes Dies.  For the illusion of sparks of light, I embossed my background with the Sparkle Embossing Folder.

Just Us Girls

This Just Us Girls Challenge sparked the idea of a fresh red and white with a touch of green color scheme.  Love the look of the bright red tulips peeking through the fresh white layer of sunlit snow.

Mojo Monday

I used this Mojo Monday Card Sketch for the layout of my card.  I didn't want all the layers from this sketch to weigh my card down, so used several frames and lots of fresh white space.

Acorny Thank You Sister Card

Acorny Thank You Stampin' Up!

Hello Friends,

Sometimes you just have to say it with a card.  Today's Nutty Sister card was stamped with the Acorny Thank You, Thoughtful Banners and Timeless Textures stamp sets.  The Acorny Thank You stamp set with its coordinating Acorn Punch always makes a delightful card.  I've added bits of the Timeless Textures stamp set around the edges.

Acorny Thank You Stampin' Up!

Sometimes it's fun to manipulate a few stamp sets to say something out of the ordinary.  The Grateful for You and the Nuts are from the Acorny Thank You stamp set.  I simply snipped out what I wanted.  And the Crazy Sister are stamps from the Thoughtful Banner stamp set.

Card & Envelope Making

I love making coordinating envelopes with the Envelope Punch Board.  A great envelope takes a handmade card over the top.
