Nothin's Better Than Coffee/Chocolate Gift Box

Nothing's Better Than/Jar of Flowers Stampin' Up!

Hello Friends,

Do you ever have a morning where you really, really need a jump start?  Today's Nothing's Better Than/Jar of Flowers Gift Box started with that nugget of an idea.  After all when your brain is in a fog and you desperately need a kick start, what's better than a coffee/chocolate combo?

Nothing's Better Than/Jar of Flowers Stampin' Up!

Inside the Jar Domes is an explosion of energy!  They are chocolate covered coffee beans.  If you have never tried these tasty drops of goodness before, I challenge you to try them the next time your engine needs revved up.  I used 2 different Stampin' Up! Bundles to make this colorful gift box (Nothing's Better Than/Jar of Flowers).

The Love You More Than dies were used to cut "coffee", "chocolate" and the cups.  The bright bouquet of flowers was colored with Magenta Madness, Just Jade, Bronze, Daffodil Delight, and Highland Heather Stampin' Blends.  The subtle white texture was achieved with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder.

Daisy Lane Beautiful Card Idea

Daisy Lane Stampin' Up!

Hello Friends,

Today I felt the overwhelming need to hole up in my office and create something beautiful.  There just something healing about art and crafting and making things that are lovely. I call it my art therapy.  So I dusted off my Daisy Lane stamp set and went to work.

Daisy Lane Stampin' Up!

How to Make This Daisy Lane Card

The light and cheery colors along with the soothing flowers and fern stamps from the Daisy Lane stamp set the stage for this light and happy card.

I started with a 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" Thick Whisper White Card Base scored at 4-1/4".  Then, I cut a curved scalloped edge off the front of my card using a die from the Envelope Dies set.  If you think that I have been stuck on these lovely dies this week, you would be correct.

I stamped "Smile" with Flirty Flamingo ink and framed it with a stitched scalloped rectangle using one of my favorite die sets, Sweet Stitched Dies.

The daisies were stamped with Coastal Cabana ink and punched with the Medium Daisy Punch.

To add a pop of happy color and texture, I cut a strip of Coastal Cabana Card Stock and embossed it with the Old World Paper 3D Embossing Folder.

Inks used for today's card were Coastal Cabana, Flirty Flamingo, Soft Sea Foam, and Daffodil Delight.  Keep reading to find out how I achieved a lighter yellow from my Daffodil Delight ink pad.

The Daffodil Ink was a little darker than I wanted for today's card, so I used a technique called stamping off which is just like it sounds.  Ink the stamp, stamp on scrap paper, then stamp on your card.  It's as easy as one, two, three.

Here's peek at the inside.  If you guessed that the Heart punch was an afterthought, you guessed correctly.  There's a boo-boo under that heart.  Punches are such quick and easy fixes for mistakes.  The "You are so loved!" stamp is from a stamp set called A Grand Kid.

Way to Goat Card

Way to Goat Stampin' Up!

Hello Friends,

My Daughter-In-Law sent me an adorable video yesterday of my grandson, Levi, learning to swim.  It was priceless!  The pure determination on his sweet little face had me cheering him on from afar.  Just for fun, I think I will send this card his way.  The Way to Goat stamp set has a way of making me laugh every time I use it, so it was the perfect stamp set to turn to for this occasion.  If you want a stamp set that makes irresistible cards every time, I recommend the Way to Goat stamp set by Stampin' Up!.

Way to Goat Stampin' Up!

Today's Way to Goat Card was a fairly simple card to make.  First, I stamped my dancing goat 3 times across a 3-1/2" x 4-3/4" piece of Whisper White Card Stock.  Then, I colored each goat differently to express 3 unique personalities using my Stampin' Blends (Gray Granite, Soft Suede, Cinnamon Cider, Seaside Spray, Petal Pink).  I grounded each goat by stamping a Seaside Spray shadow under each.  Then, I stamped the Way to Goat! sentiment.  I splattered a bit of Petal Pink ink for interest and clipped one corner with my Detailed Trio Punch (#146320) to infer movement.
