Handmade Unicorn Birthday Card

handmade Unicorn Birthday Card by Robin Feicht

Hello Friends,

What is it about Unicorns and little girls?  Little Girls and Unicorns seem to go hand in hand these days.  With that in mind, I wanted to make a unicorn Birthday card for my granddaughter's upcoming birthday, but I haven't ordered the new Unicorn stamp set yet.  But with a little creativity, I was able to make a Unicorn Birthday Card with the supplies that I already owned.  It's sorta like a Punch Art Unicorn made with dies and markers.

Unicorn Birthday Card Tips and Tricks

The Petal Pink polka dot background is from the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper.

The horn is Sparkle Glimmer Paper cut with the little Sailboat die from the Smooth Sailing Dies.

The unicorn ears were cut with leaf dies from the Natures Roots dies and Whisper White Paper.

The flowers and leaves were stamped with the Tea Together stamp set and the Tea Time Dies.  I colored them with Purple Posy, Rococo Rose, Highland Heather, and Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends.

I free handed the eyelashes with my Basic Black Dark Stampin' Blend.

The Beautiful Bouquet stamp set provided the Happy Birthday stamp.

Treehouse Adventure Easel Card

How to Make an Easel Card

Hello Friends,

Do you have kids in your life?  The Treehouse Adventure stamp set by Stampin' Up! has kids written all over it.  For the next 3 days, I'll share a parade of projects made with the Treehouse Adventure stamp set.  Starting with this playful Easel Card.  It's my salute to a fabulous kids stamp set.

The Treehouse Adventure stamp set is on the 2019 Stampin' Up! Retirement list.  Which means that it will only be available for just a little while longer.

Treehouse Adventure Stampin' Up!

This card may look complicated at first glance, but it's really just a series of stamping, cutting and scoring.  Not mention, it's really a lot of fun to watch your card come to life.  You really don't have to be a master crafter to make this Treehouse Adventure Birthday Card.  Let me share a few tips on how to make this Easel Card.

Treehouse Adventure Stampin' Up!

Treehouse Adventure Easel Card Tips

Start by stamping your tree and treehouse.  I used Lemon Lime Twist (retiring), Granny Apple Green, Pineapple Punch, Pumpkin Pie, Night of Navy, Soft Suede and Basic Gray Inks.  Some of my elements were started then fussy cut.  And others, such as my tree trunk, tire swing, sign, grass, and sentiment were stamped directly on my card face.  Then, I adhered my cut images to build my treehouse.

Hint:  To say "Happy Birthday" with different shades of Navy simple stamp multiple times before inking you stamp again.  This Technique is called Stamping Off.

To make the easel, simply cut a 4-1/4" x 11" card base.  Then, score your card base at 5-1/2" and 2-3/4".  Fold to form a triangle.  Adhere your card front to the front side of that triangle.

To make everything stamp up, you will need a support piece.  On my card, I layered a series of rectangles and popped them up with Stampin' Dimensionals.  This is the catch to hold your easel in place.

I did swipe the base sentiment (Hope Your Day is Filled with Fun and Lots of Happy Surprises!) from the Postcard Pals stamp set.  Sadly, this cute stamp set is also retiring.

Color Throwdown

Color inspiration for today's Child's Birthday Card came from this week Color Throwdown Challenge of yellow, orange, navy and green.

Handmade Card for 3 Year Old

Bella & Friends Stampin' Up!

Hello Friends,

Do you love making kids cards?  I do too.  Today, Bella & Friends Birthday card is for my granddaughter, Grace, who turns 3 soon.  I was even able to personalize Grace's Birthday Card for how old she is by stamping 3 cupcakes.

Here's Grace with her Daddy and her Big Sister.  Both girls really love their Daddy.

Bella & Friends Stampin' Up!

Inside I used my favorite retiring sentiment stamp set, Better Together.  This has been one of my go-to stamp set for years.  Love the happy fonts and practical sentiments.  I couldn't resist using another cute stamp from the retiring Bella & Friends stamp set on the inside.

Bella & Friends Stampin' Up!

The Bella & Friends stamps set looks cute paired with the Love you to Pieces stamp set.  My Wyoming granddaughters love purple and pink, so the Highland Heather Gingham Gala Paper and to super soft Petal Pink/Whisper White Variegated Ribbon were natural additions to my card.  Love that ribbon.  It ties like a dream.
