Personalized Tween Boy Birthday Card

Handmade Tween Boy Birthday Card

Hello Friends,

Making cards for the men and boys in our lives can be a bit tricky.  And making cards for tweens and teen boys is even more challenging.  Today's Personalized Tween Boy Birthday Card is for my Grandson, Connor.

Making Personalized Tween Boy Cards

Look through your collection of dies, punches and stamps to personalize your cards.  Remember, it's okay to mix and match.  For today's card, I spelled Connor's name using the Hand-lettered Prose dies.

I chose the Wrapped in Plaid designer paper for its rich colors.  It also works well for masculine cards.

The Well Said stamp set and the Well Written dies play well together and make fun combinations.

Punched balloons take on a translucent look with vellum.  I used the Perennial Essence Vellum card Stock and the Balloon Bouquet punch.

Leave a Little Sparkle

Leave a little Sparkle Stampin' Up!

Hello Friends,

What is it with little girls and unicorns?  I have a granddaughter who is turning 5 soon. She has been counting the days until her birthday for a very long time.  So I thought the Leave a Little Sparkle stamp set by Stampin' Up! would make a fun Unicorn Birthday Card for a 5-year-old girl.  The 2 unicorn stamps are beautifully illustrated and the sentiments are encouraging and happy.

Leave a little Sparkle Stampin' Up!

Steps for Making An Unicorn Birthday Card

First, I heat embossed both the unicorn and sentiment (Leave a Little Sparkle wherever you go) in gold.  Then, I colored the unicorn with Highland Heather and Flirty Flamingo Stampin' Blends.

Since turning 5 is a really big deal to Booke, I stamped little #5's across the background using my Make a Difference Stamp Set and Gorgeous Grape ink.

It's all about the sparkle and unicorns, so I brushed Wink of Stella across my unicorn and then matted my picture with Sparkle Glimmer Paper.

And for a little extra pizzaz, I dotted Snowflake Sequins across my card front.

Inside, I stamped another unicorn using Gorgeous Grape ink.

Then, I cut a Flirty Flamingo Happy Birthday message using my Well Written Dies.

All of today's card supplies are listed below.  Do you have little girls in your life who would love a Unicorn card from you?

Dino Days Birthday Card

Dino Days Stampin' Up!

Hello Friends,

I love the Dino Days stamp set and coordinating Dino dies for handmade Children's cards.  Today's card is a Birthday Card for my Grandson, Brennan who loves dinosaurs.

Dino Days Stampin' Up!

The Dinoroar Designer Paper was a welcome addition to complete today's birthday card.  The dinosaurs were actually cut from the designer paper!

I fashioned the unique card opening the same way that I did in the card in the video below.  It's fun to shake things up and do the unexpected when paper crafting.
