Fable Friends Stampin' Up!

Hello Friends,

I feel a bit like a squirrel lately storing up food for the winter.  Over the weekend I canned spaghetti and pizza sauce, salsa and jam.  And yesterday, we froze 32 dozen ears of corn.  Yikes, that's a lot of work!  Anyway, all that canning and freezing reminded me of the squirrel from the Fable Friends stamp set.  I made my old things look new again by putting together a card with the Colorful Season stamp sets and Seasonal Layers dies along with the Fable Friends stamp set.  Then I layered the whole collage onto the gorgeous Pressed Petals Designer Paper for a rustic autumn look.

3 Card Design Tips

  1. Decide on a color combo.  I used colors from the Pressed Petals Designer paper.  Choosing color combos is a cinch if you take your cue from your paper.  I love that Stampin' Up! lists the colors in the paper.  In the end, I chose Night of Navy, Crushed Curry, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake and Mossy Meadow.
  2. Next, create possible card elements.  For example, I stamped, colored and fussy cut my squirrel.  Then, I cut various shapes with my Stitched Shapes and Seasonal Layers Dies.   And finally, I tied a cheerful Crushed Curry crinkled bow.  Learn how to make great bows every time with this Double Bow Tutorial.
  3. And finally, move around your card elements to make a pleasing design.

How do you freeze your corn? Do you cut it from the cob or freeze the whole cob? Thanks
