Let me introduce you to the Free As A Bird Bundle by Stampin' Up! with 5 pretty projects. It's that time of year here in Ohio. The birds are nesting and fledglings are hatching. Practically everywhere I look there's a bird perched singing its happy song.
For this Free As a Bird card, I spend a fair amount of time fussy cutting and coloring, but the results were worth it plus the process was enjoyable. I colored my birds with Crumb Cake, light Pineapple Punch, Light Petal Pink and Light Heather Highland Stampin' Blends. Hint: I wanted the lighter Purple Posy blend, but it hasn't arrived at my house yet.
I love paper crafts and I especially like making beautiful paper flower bouquets. The white and yellow daisies were fashioned with the Daisy Punch and the Daisy Delight Stamp set. I used Whisper White and So Saffron inks and card stock. The centers are the dazzling Gold Faceted Gems. I simply curled the petals with my bone folder and stacked a couple of daisies together.
The purple flowers were made entirely with paper and the Magnolia Memory Dies. They were pure pleasure to make and arrange into a lovely bouquet. I used Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape, So Saffron and Mossy Meadow card stock. After that, it was simply a matter of manipulating the card stock with my bone folder and my fingers to form these lovely little posies.
You may have heard by now that the launch of the new Purple Posy Ink Pads and reinkers has been delayed because of quality issues. That didn't stop me from enjoying the new Purple Posy. I simply stamped my background with my VersaMark Ink Pad and my Free As A Bird stamp set unto Purple Posy Card Stock. Beautiful!
Did you notice the card base? They are captivating and they come in a pretty tin which I naturally had to embellish, more about that in a minute. The Bird Ballad Laser-Cut Cards & Tin is captivating. I simply slipped a piece of Petal Pink card stock between the layers. The scalloped envelopes are lovely too. Each tin is loaded with 12 laser-cut cards and scalloped envelopes.
Who wouldn't like to receive this pretty tin as a gift? It's simply gorgeous! For my final project today I tried my hand at coloring Blue Birds. What do you think? Is there a project that you would like to revisit with a tutorial? Let me know in the comments below.
