Good-Bye Swirly Bird
May 09, 2019
Hello Friends,
There's nothing like a Stampin' Up! Retirement list to remind you just how fabulous a stamp set or dies are. I remember when I first opened my Swirly Bird stamp set and my Swirly Scribbles dies. It was 3 years ago. I had my preorder shipped to my son's home in Wyoming, when I went out to visit for the birth of my sweet granddaughter, Grace. Oh, how I loved that quirky set and now it's retiring as of June 3 or sooner if supplies run out before then.
It was fun to ink up my Swirly Bird stamp set once again and play. Plus, I had a happy inspiration!
Card Making Tips and Tricks
Today's ink colors are Soft Sea Foam, Melon Mambo and.....Seaside Spray, which a new In Color for 2019-2020.
I added texture to my background with my Ruffled Dynamic Impressions Embossing Folder (also retiring) and the Swirly Scribbles dies. Hint: The precision base plate makes a world of difference when cutting with these dies.
For softness, I stamped on vellum and tied a lovely double bow with the Petal Pink/Whisper White Variegated Ribbon.
And for sparkle, I dotted Basic Adhesive-backed sequins across my card.
For your convenience, I have a complete supply list for today's card at the bottom of this post.
Today's card was inspired by a little bird that has decided that my hanging petunia basket on my back porch is a cozy home for her new family.
I know you are as curious as I am. Here's a quick picture of her nest and her soon to hatch eggs. Any avid bird watchers want to tell me what kind of bird the mama is based on the eggs and nest location?
Have a fabulous day,

Looks like a cowbird egg in amongst some house finch eggs. (http://www.sialis.org/cowbirds.htm) Those cowbirds are lazy and usually lay eggs for other species to raise. Thanks for sharing your lovely card today!
