Farewell Lovely As A Tree

Lovely As A Tree Stampin' Up!

Hello Friends,

Today, we're saying good-bye and farewell to the Lovely As A Tree stamp set.  Lovely As A Tree was a very popular stamp set when I first became a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator in 2005.  I still remember how excited I was for that Brown Truck to roll up in front of my house with my first shipment as a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator.  My Lovely As A Tree stamp set was in that box.

Actually, Lovely As A Tree has been with Stampin' Up! longer than I have.  As you can see by the copyright on the stamp label, it has been around since 2001.  It's been a favorite because of its classic beauty and because of its versatility.  I've used the Lovely as a Tree stamp set over the years to teach many different Stamping Techniques.  Here are 3 of those techniques from the past below.

Pointillism Coloring Technique

The Pointillism Coloring Technique is a perfect choice for coloring autumn leaves on this majestic tree.  To see just how easy and fun the Pointillism Coloring Technique in action in the video tutorial below.

Masking is a tried and true Stamping Technique that's been around for a long time.

Let me show you a little twist on this technique that I call 2-Step Masking.

Create a beautiful sunset with Baby Wipes.  That's right with baby wipes, ink refills and glossy white card stock you can create a sunset or sunrise.

Baby Wipe Technique:

  1. Start with Glossy White Card Stock.  It's as smooth as a baby's bottom.
  2. Stamp your focal point using Stazon ink.  Stazon ink is made for stamping on non-porous surfaces and glossy white card stock is not porous.
  3. Next, apply drops of ink going up one side of a baby wipe that has been folded to approximately the same height as your card stock.
  4. Rub the inked baby wipe across your Glossy white card stock to paint your sky.  It may take a couple of swipes.  Allow to dry thoroughly.

As I said at the beginning of this post-Lovely As A Tree is Retiring.  It will only be available until June 3, 2019, or WHILE SUPPLIES LAST, whichever comes first.  Tomorrow, I'll show you the new generation or the stamp set that will be taking its place.  But, if you would like to have this oldie, but goodie stamp set in your stamp collection you will want to scoop it up before it is gone for good.  See below for ordering details.

Have a fabulous day,
