3-D Paper Crafts- Lighthouse Tea Light Boxes
May 23, 2019
Hello Friends,
I'm so stinkin' excited that Stampin' Up! carried over the High Tide Stamp set. It plays so well with the new Sailing Home Bundle. The Smooth Sailing dies actually work with both stamp sets! I wanted to make a 3-D Paper Craft as a going away gift for my class of 1st and 2nd graders at church, so made these fun Lighthouse Tea Light Boxes. I teach this class every spring for 12 weeks and Sunday is our last class.
There's nothing little about the light you shine seemed like an appropriate way to send them off. The sentiment is from the High Tide stamp set which is carrying over into the new catalog. The Lighthouse stamp and the dies are from the new Sailing Home bundle that will be available starting June 4, 2019.
Tea Light Lighthouse Project Tips
I started with a basic little box made with a half sheet of card stock (4-1/2" x 11"). I scored at 2-1/2", 5", 7-1/2" and 10", then I turned my card stock 90 degrees and scored at 1-1/4". And finally, I trimmed with my snips to make my tabs.
To make the opening for my light to shine through, I turned my sailboat die sideways.
My final tip is to not be afraid to snip apart stamps to make them more useable for projects. You will still be able to slide them back together when you want to use them that way. For today's project I snipped the words there's nothing from the rest of the verse to use as shown.
