Where Do You Find Card Inspiration?

Hello Friends,

Tell me, do you do this?  I was recently in a Doctor's Office waiting for x rays of my broken wrist and I found myself looking at this wall art thinking that it would be great inspiration for a card.  So tell me; I would really like to know.  Do you do things like this?  Where do you find card inspiration?  Let's  start a conversation.  Post your thoughts in the comments at the bottom of this post.

By the way, would you like to see the card that was a result of my recent doctor's visit?  Fair warning, this is definitely an out of my comfort zone kind of card.  Anyone who knows me, know that I am a Clean and Crisp kind of gal.   But to create my card base, I clearly ventured into the "dirty territory".  There was definitely a fair amount of Soft Suede ink on my fingers.  I have to admit, part of me really wanted to give this card a good scrubbing.

Rooted in Nature Stampin' Up!

Here's the end result.  I used the lovely Winter Woods stamps for the trees, the Rooted in Nature stamps for the leaves and the Itty Bitty Greetings stamps for the greeting on my art inspired card.

Winter Woods Stampin' Up!

I stamped off for a slightly lighter shade of Soft Suede when stamping my trees and leaves.  I also stamped on watercolor paper so that I could paint a soft watercolor background of Balmy Blue, Soft Sea Foam, Highland Heather and Gray Granite.  This card is really out of character for me with its dirty background and blurred lines.

Itty Bitty Greetings Stampin' Up!

I reached for my Itty Bitty Greeting to select a sentiment, both because they a smaller and fit the card and because there are so, so many greeting to choose from in this stamp set (32 to be exact!).

About That Dirty Background!

To make my background, I inked up my Subtle Dynamic Impressions Embossing Folder with Gray Granite ink before running it through my Big Shot.  Tip for you neat freaks (raising my hand wildly)-Rinse your embossing folder immediately and all the ink will rinse right off.

So what about you, is your stamping style dirty or clean.  Some of my very best friends are dirty, but for me I'll stick with clean.

Have a fabulous day,
