How many Kid's Cards do you make in a year? I have 14 Grandkids, so my answer is a lot. Today's Birthday Card is for my Grandson, Connor. It's hard to believe that he's going to be 10 already. His birthday card was stamped with 3 different stamp sets. The obvious stamp set is the Treehouse Adventure stamps. There are just so many fun images for making kids cards. The complimenting stamp sets are a hostess set called Hand Delivered. I wanted to use the balloon bouquet stamp from this set. And I used the Buffalo Check Stamp because I could. Buffalo Check just goes well with so many things.
One thing that I have learned from stamping with kids is that they enjoy color, lots of color. So I don't shy away from color when I stamp kids cards. Less is more is not a concept that kids embrace. The balloons were the perfect opportunity to add an array of colors including Mango Melody, Night of Navy, Shaded Spruce, Real Red, Highland Heather and just a bit of Cajun Craze.
The house set up my dominate color combo of Crushed Curry, Shade Spruce, Merry Merlot. The star was stamped in a neutral (Soft Suede).
I did something a little different with my Buffalo Check stamp on this card. I only inked up two corners leaving some pleasing white space.
A Big Thanks to Freshly Made Sketches for the card sketch that jump started my card design. It's amazing how much quicker it is to make a card when you start with a sketch.
