The other day my grandson and I shared a walk and much to our delight we spotted a bluebird. His blue and orange looked so bright and cheerful against the early autumn landscape. The fields of soybeans and corn are ripe for harvest. The bright autumn display of color hasn't quite arrived yet, so that bright color of the bluebird was so delightful. Anyway, all that the inspired today's Petal Palette Autumn card.
The Soft Suede and Copper make a beautiful autumn backdrop. And the shimmery copper of the Copper foil paper and the copper embossing look fabulous against the ripple of the corrugated embossing. I frayed the ends of my Braided Linen Thread to look like nest material.
Bluebird Coloring Techniques
The bluebird is a mix of techniques. I stamped my bird using Pacific Point ink, then I brushed my Aqua Painter across the blue for a watercolored look. I wanted is breast to really pop, so I colored it with my Calypso Coral Stampin' Blends. I went basic with a black marker and dotted his eye and beak. Isn't he gorgeous?
