Stampin' Up! Color Revamp & New Ink Pads

Stampin' Up! Retiring Colors

Hello Friends,

You may have heard by now the Stampin' Up! is doing a big Color Revamp this year along with some ink pad changes.  It's super exciting and I fully intended to make a video for you detailing the changes, but life got in the way.  I've been running back and forth to the hospital all week.  Our son who has epilepsy had a monitored medicine change this week.  Because of time constraints, I decided to do a detailed pictured explanation.  Most of my pictures will be in rainbow order.  Be sure to keep scrolling.  There's lots of pictures and the pads are last.

The most immediate thing that you need to know is the Retiring Colors.  These colors will be available WHILE SUPPLIES LAST, so get your favorites before they are gone.

Pictured left to right: Rose Red, Pink Pirouette, Tangerine Tango, Peekaboo Peach, Always Artichoke, Wild Wasabi, Emerald Envy, Island Indigo, Dapper Denim, Marina Mist, Tempting Turquoise, Soft Sky, Elegant Eggplant, Perfect Plum, Wisteria Wonder, Sweet Sugar Plum and Chocolate Chip.

This list includes the In Colors scheduled to retire this year and 13 Core Colors.  On a side note, Flirty Flamingo retired as an In Color, but is back as a Core Color.

Stampin' Up! Ink

I can't say enough about the new Ink Pad design.  They rock!  It was time for Stampin' Up! to update the mold and they knocked it out of the park.  Inks are still stored upside down for juicier pads, but you can open them with a push of you thumb.  They open much like a makeup compact.  They're also a snugger fit to keep the air out.  Just look at the comparison of 5 stacked side by side!  Speaking of stacking, the new pads are designed to stack.

The size is ever so slightly different.  The old and the new style are the same width, but the newer pads are a skosh smaller.  The pads will fit in both the retiring  ink caddy as well as the Stamp-n-Storage Ink Storage.

And that's not all, there's more.  Stampin' Up! has added a defoamer to cut down on bubbling and to give you a more even coating of ink on your stamp for a smoother more solid look.  And if that's not enough, Stampin' Up! has designed a smaller label to insert inside your pad, so that you can easily identify your pads when there are multiples on your work surface.

Note:  We will no longer carry Archival inks, so the old Basic Gray Ink Refill should not be used on the new Classic Ink Basic Gray.  For Black Inks there are 2 options-Jet Black Stazon and Tuxedo Black Momentos Inks.  Use Stazon for watercoloring and use Momento for coloring with Blender Pens.

Clarifications on ReInkers-You can use old reinkers on your new pads with the exception of archival inks, but you will loose the defoamer advantage.   You can also use new reinker on your old pads and gain the defoamer advantage.

So the new pads aren't hinged together anymore? I loved that they could do that! I loved that there wasn't any loose lids floating around my table for me to stick my elbow in!
I like their look but if the hinged type box is gone, I am going to be upset.

Robin Feicht

Thanks for your comment, Rosemary. Yes, the ink pads are still hinged. They are just easier to open. I'll do a video this week so you can see them in action. They really are fabulous!
