Celebrating 12 Beautiful, Cute, Happy Paper Crafts of 2017

Beautiful You Stampin' Up!

Hello Friends,

Do you have any idea how hard it is to pick just 12 of your favorite paper crafts from a whole year's worth of Paper crafts?  I'll attempt to do that for you, but I wonder what your top 12 picks would be.  I had January narrowed down to 3 Crafty picks.  They were a beautiful, yet cute card filled with hearts, a miniature envelope and an arrow or an adorable love you lots baker's box with a happy frog.  I ended up choosing the Beautiful You Card for its simplicity and beauty, plus it's happy.

Note:  I'll be taking a week or so off to spend with family, so hopefully you will enjoy these 12 plus favorite Paper Crafts of 2017.  See you again in January.

Penned & Painted Get Well Card

Let's stroll on over to February, the month of Love, for my next crafty pick.  Wow, February's Gallery was gorgeous!  It was hard to choose, but I settled on this crisp, red and white Penned & Painted Get Well Card.  A close second was another lovely Penned and Painted Card

You've Got This Handmade Card

March's Card was really chosen for me.  This is card card that truly is more beautiful in real life.  All my local ladies requested that we make this card at classes and clubs.  Click here for some close up pictures that are sure to dazzle you and for details on how to make this card.

Nailed It Stampin' Up!

For April's Card, I went with my favorite masculine card of the year.  April must be the month for handsome cards.  But I would be remise if I didn't mention the 2 runners up.  If you like interactive cards, you'll appreciate this honey bee spinner card.  And Swirly Bird in a bow tie Card was in the running for its cuteness factor.

Hand Stamped Spring Card

My May Top Pick was chosen for its happy factor.  It's just so light, bright and cheerful.  Find Out More About this happy spring time card here.  May runners up were this handsome Lighthouse Sketch Card and this something to crow about card.  I love all the eclectic elements and the bold uneven polka dots of the crow about card and the Lighthouse card is plain sharp.

Dalsy Delight Stampin' Up!

The hands down winner for June is these lovely paper daisies.  My daisies in a garden pot received loads of compliments and it features the Stampin' Up!'s hottest punch in 7 years, the Daisy Punch.  Plus, it's a great project to walk into summer.  Find out more about making this beautiful 3-D Daisy arrangement here.  By the way, the daisy stems were fashioned with raffia.

A Little Wild Stampin' Up!

Since we are taking a trip down memories lane, I choose this Life looks beautiful on you card because it reminds me of the Incentive Trip that Joe and I took to Thailand with Stampin' Up! this year.  The idea for this card was sparked by a painting made by a Thailand artist.  Of course, we brought the painting home too.  Get all the details.

Painted Harvest Stampin' Up!

In my mind, August was a tie between this Night in Bethlehem Card and this Painted Harvest card.  I chose the Painted Autumn card because it seems to fit better for an August Paper Craft Winner.

Vintage Leaves Stampin' Up!

For September, this bright and beautiful Vintage Leaves card won first prize because it practically shouts hello fall.  But, I also like this Altered Altoids Tin because it takes a common item and repurposes it into something beautiful and useful.  But this Mason Jar card also says autumn in a beautiful way.

Handmade Christmas Card & Gift Box

My October favorite pick has 3 much loved components-Pretty Pines, Buffalo Plaid Paper (Merry Little Christmas Designer Paper) and a Mini Pizza Box.  Plus, there's the coordinating card and treat box.  Find out more about this October loveliness here.

Smitten Mittens Stampin' Up!

My favorite Paper Craft for November is also in the running for my favorite project of the year, subject to change, of course.  Love the sweet mittens and the navy gingham ribbon and the pretty pines nestled on the mini pizza box.  Get all the little details.

Smitten Mittens Memory Keeping

Since we are taking a trip down memory lane, I chose a memory keeping moment for my December Crafty Pick.  This scrapbook layout warms my heart.  Get the sweet details.

Would you have chosen the projects differently?  I love to hear from you.  Express your thoughts in the comments of this post.

Wishing you and yours many happy memories for 2018,

How to Make Cheerful "Mistle" Toes Gifts

MIstle "toes" Handmade Gift

Hello Friends,

Are you busy gathering last minute gifts, packaging and baking?  Or are you done and ready for the big day?  Every year my beautiful daughter-in-laws exchange "my favorite thing" gifts and they are graciously include me in the exchange.  This year I'm giving them a gift for their "mistle" toes!  How fun is that!   I found the idea on Pinterest and I'l share the links for the free printables and also the foot scrub recipe which I altered slightly.

But first, allow me to share how I dressed up my gifts and made them my own.  First, I tucked a couple of mistletoe branches which I cut with the Pretty Pines Dies behind my tag.  The Pretty Pines dies really are my go to tool  this time of year.  Then I stamped a cute striped tag with the Tags and Trimmings stamp set.  The Tags and Trimming stamp will no longer be available as of January 2 or While Supplies Last.   I found that the tag die from the Wood Crate Framelits Dies work perfectly for this, but you could also fussy cut your tag.

Then, I bundled together a pretty nail polish, polish remover and a jar of handmade Foot Scrub in a Gusseted Cellophane Bag and tied everything up with the gorgeous 7/8" Striped Ribbon (also set to retire on January 2 or WHILE SUPPLIES LAST).  As always, I have a clickable supply list at the end of the post for your convenience.

I found the cute "mistle" toe tag on a fun blog called the Idea Room.  She graciously share her free printable tag.

The recipe for the handmade Lemongrass & Chamomile Foot Scrub plus the free printable tag was shared by One Essential Community.  I didn't have the mica to turn my scrub the pretty blue and my sugar was a little browner.  I substituted Olive Oil for the Avocado Oil.  It really does smell great and chamomile and Lemongrass is such a relaxing and refreshing blend.
