Stampin' Up! the Old, the New, the Beautiful

Beauty of the Season

A cardinal is singing his cheerful tune even as I write today's post.  Beauty of the Season is a Sneak Peek stamp set great for making Christmas Cards.  And its available to you now.  I also used the soon to Retire Stamp set, Christmas Messages.  And finally, I added random beautiful things from my stash. Put it all together in an eclectic combination for a beautiful Christmas Card in July.  Let's take a closer look.

Beauty of the Season

I colored my Beauty of the Season cardinal with Cherry Cobbler, Pumpkin Pie and Smoky Slate Bendabilities markers.  Mr. Cardinal was stamped on Typset Designer Paper which looks and feels like it came straight from a vintage book.  I wasn't sure if the Blendabilities would work on this lightweight paper, but they performed beautifully.

My accents were random pieces of glimmer paper, baker's twine, seam binding and sequin trim.  With a little bit of crumpling, tying, tearing, piercing, embossing and bending and lots of glue dots my card was complete.

Would you like a peek at the inside?

Christmas Messages

My first Christmas verse is also from the soon to retire Christmas Messages Stamp set.  I picked up some gold sequins that were lying on my desk and dotted them across the inside, just because I could.

As always, a complete list of supplies are listed at the bottom of the post.
