Handcrafted Christmas Ornament

Wisemen Still Seek Him Handcrafted Ornament

Hello Friends,

We all know that we can use the adorable Mini Pizza Boxes for giving small food and treat gifts, but did you know that they also make cute Christmas ornaments?  I recently saw the cutest little Farmhouse Ornament made by Tina Zinck and thought that it was quite the clever Idea.  I naturally wanted to come up with my own Robin original ornament, so I pulled out my mini pizza boxes and made this Wise Men Still Seek Him Christmas Ornament with my Hometown Greetings Edgelits dies.

Handcrafted Christmas Ornament Tips

I cut the window with my largest Layering Squares die.

My background and box edge are covered with Night of Navy papers from the Twinkle Twinkle Designer Series Paper.

I backed my town windows with Gold Foil Paper and heat embossed "Wise Men Still Seek Him" with a stamp from the Illuminated Christmas stamp set and Gold Embossing Powder.

For snow, I scooped on Shimmery White Embossing Paste.  Tip: Putting on the embossing paste is a lot like frosting a cake.

And finally,  I attached my gingham bow and Gold sequin hanger with my handy, dandy hot glue gun.

Simple Stamping Christmas Cards

#simplestamping StampingCountry

Hello Friends,

How much beautiful Designer Paper do you have stashed away?  You know what I mean gorgeous, gorgeous paper sits in your drawer because you are reluctant to use it.  With Christmas less than a month away, I realized that I have been doing just that.  Which seems silly since I have a lot of Christmas Cards that need to be made and mailed.  My Solution to both dilemmas is #simplestamping.  Do you realize that from a single sheet of 12" x 12" designer paper you can cut six 4" x 5-1/4" pieces for card fronts and still have left overs for other card elements?   And do you realize that with, on average, 12 sheets of paper in every pack, that could be 72 card fronts plus some?  It gets even better than that!   Stampin' Up! makes coordinating card stock packages to match their Designer Papers.  Each card stock package contains 24 sheets or 8 each of 3 coordinating colors.   An average card base is an half a sheet of card stock.  Translated, that's 48 Card Bases!

With all that in mind, I have resolved to use all that beautiful, beautiful designer paper by the end of the Holiday Season on Cards, Tags and Gift Packaging, but for today let's talk about simple stamping and quick, easy Card Making.  Here's 3 Christmas Card Ideas to get you started.

#simplestamping StampingCountry

All you need to make this Christmas Card is Card Stock, Designer Paper, Ink, stamps (I used the Christmas Pines stamps) and a bitty bit of linen thread.

#simplestamping StampingCountry

All the supplies are the same for this card, but I eliminated the Linen Thread and used the Everyday Label Punch and a Pearlized Doily.

#simplestamping StampingCountry

Same supplies minus the punch!  What will you do?  Hoard that beautiful paper for another year or put it to good use and enjoy it?

Have a fabulous day,

Feicht Christmas Tree Adventure

Christmas Pines was on my mind this weekend, since we made our annual family trip to our local Christmas Tree Farm.  And this year, our kids and grandkids made it up from Georgia to join in the adventure.  If you are ever in central Ohio this time of year, I highly recommend Kleerview Christmas Trees.

Feicht Grandchildren

It's so much more than just going to buy a Christmas tree.  It's a family adventure.  It's a ride in the wagon up to the Farm House to see all the fun new Christmas decorations.  It's hot chocolate, baby farm animals and Santa with his real live reindeer.  Here's 5 of my precious grandchildren on the ride up to the farmhouse.  I will definitely be scrapbooking some of these pictures with the Christmas Pines stamp set.

Anyway, let's get back to today's card.

Christmas Pines Stampin' Up

Card Design Tips

My pine branches were stamped with Mossy Meadow ink.  I also cut with my Pretty Pines Dies more greenery in Mossy Meadow and Old Olive.

The pine cones were also cut with the Pretty Pines dies.

I heat embossed my sentiment in gold on Merry Merlot card stock and cut it with my Stitched Shapes dies.  The bow was also cut with the Pretty Pines dies from Joyous Noel Glimmer Paper.

I splattered the whole thing with Merry Merlot Ink and an Aqua Painter.

If you look closely, you'll spot a fun new product from the upcoming Occasions Catalog.  Do you see it?  It's Old Olive Linen Thread!  Be still my beating heart.
