How to Make a Funny Masculine Card

Birthday Wit Stampin' Up!

 Hello Friends,

I'm back with another masculine card.  Actually, today's birthday card could probably be considered gender neutral.  The stamps, design and color could go either way.  I used the Birthday Wit stamp set to provide the humor and the Picture Perfect Birthday Stamp set to place the candles on top.  It's really a very easy card to make.

Because I stamped with the the Birthday Wit everything free stamp  3 times, once each with Dapper Denim, Fresh Fig and Lemon Lime Twist inks, it would be super, duper easy to make 3 cards guys birthday cards in record time.  Simple stamp, then cut and puzzle the pieces onto 3  card fronts.  I used Eastern Palace Designer Paper as my first layer on a Very Vanilla Card base.  I use the same 3 colors and the Picture Perfect Party stamp set to stamp the candles on top.

Faux Dry Embossing with dies & Petal Palette

Petal Palette Stampin' Up!

Hello Friends,

With today's card, we do a little Faux Dry Embossing and I'll share a twist on Coloring and Blending.  It's also my first card with the beautiful Petal Palette Bundle.  Wow, is this a gorgeous a gorgeous and versatile bundle!

Petal Palette Stampin' Up!
Petal Palette Card Idea

I love coloring and blending with Stampin' Blends, but I didn't have all the colors that I wanted.  It was time to experiment.  I colored and blended the small flowers with my Night of Navy Stampin' Blends (Alcohol Markers).  I wanted the leaves to be Lemon Lime Twist, so I colored them with a bit of Lemon Lime Twist ink and a Blender Pen.  For shading, I simply went back and added more color.  For the pink flowers, I combined both coloring techniques.  First, I laid down a base color with my Dark Pink Pirouette Stampin' Blend, then I layered on Powder Pink ink with my blender pen.  And that's my Twist on Blending and Coloring.

Faux Dry Embossing Technique

There are some really intricate dies included in the Petals & More Thinlits Dies that lend themselves to Faux Embossing.  To give the look of dry embossing with dies, simply die cut your images with the same color as the background, then glue the die cuts directly on top of the background.  The dies fool the eye into thinking that it may be dry embossing.  Hint:  For best results using intricate dies, use the Precision Base Plate.  The Precision Base Plate adds a little more oomph to your die sandwich, making working with detailed dies a dream.

How to Make a Card

For a fun twist, try adding a panel of colored card stock to the inside of a white card base.  For today's card, I inserted Lemon Lime Twist.

Send Hugs with a Handmade Valentine

Handmade Valentine

Hello Friends,

February 14th is just around the corner.  Have you made this year's Valentines?  With family scattered across the country, a handmade Valentine is a fun way to send hugs their way.   Today's card was made with an eclectic mix of this and that from around my craft room.

Handmade Valentine by Robin Feicht

The framework for today's card is a combination of 3 different die sets-Sweet & Sassy, Popcorn Box and Lovely Words.  The silver "hugs" was cut from a Silver Foil Sheet with the Lovely Words Thinlits Dies.  The hearts are from my often used and much lovely Sweet & Sassy Thinlits Dies.  The Glimmery heart is a sheet from the Myths & Magic Glimmer Paper and the other 2 hearts are simply Whisper White and Real Red Card Stock.  I pulled a couple of dies from the Popcorn Box Dies to make the Scallop and Rick Rack accent.

Hand Stamped Valentine

I tucked in a sweet panda stamped with the Party Pandas stamp set for good measure.  The Party Pandas stamp set is one of many fabulous Sale-a-Bration Free Gifts this year.  Sale-a-bration runs from January 3 to March 31, 2018.  Be sure to pick up all the Free gifts on your list.  See them here.

Color Challenge

The color inspiration today's Valentine came from this week's Splitcoast Stampers Color Challenge CC671.  Barbara chose Real Red, Whisper White and Silver and for dessert we were to make a Valentine just in time for February 14.    This week's colors are a perfect choice for this time of year.    Join us for this week's Splitcoast Stampers Color Challenge Here.
