Stampin' Up! Color Revamp & New Ink Pads

Stampin' Up! Retiring Colors

Hello Friends,

You may have heard by now the Stampin' Up! is doing a big Color Revamp this year along with some ink pad changes.  It's super exciting and I fully intended to make a video for you detailing the changes, but life got in the way.  I've been running back and forth to the hospital all week.  Our son who has epilepsy had a monitored medicine change this week.  Because of time constraints, I decided to do a detailed pictured explanation.  Most of my pictures will be in rainbow order.  Be sure to keep scrolling.  There's lots of pictures and the pads are last.

The most immediate thing that you need to know is the Retiring Colors.  These colors will be available WHILE SUPPLIES LAST, so get your favorites before they are gone.

Pictured left to right: Rose Red, Pink Pirouette, Tangerine Tango, Peekaboo Peach, Always Artichoke, Wild Wasabi, Emerald Envy, Island Indigo, Dapper Denim, Marina Mist, Tempting Turquoise, Soft Sky, Elegant Eggplant, Perfect Plum, Wisteria Wonder, Sweet Sugar Plum and Chocolate Chip.

This list includes the In Colors scheduled to retire this year and 13 Core Colors.  On a side note, Flirty Flamingo retired as an In Color, but is back as a Core Color.

Stampin' Up! Ink

I can't say enough about the new Ink Pad design.  They rock!  It was time for Stampin' Up! to update the mold and they knocked it out of the park.  Inks are still stored upside down for juicier pads, but you can open them with a push of you thumb.  They open much like a makeup compact.  They're also a snugger fit to keep the air out.  Just look at the comparison of 5 stacked side by side!  Speaking of stacking, the new pads are designed to stack.

Stampin' Up! Ink

The size is ever so slightly different.  The old and the new style are the same width, but the newer pads are a skosh smaller.  The pads will fit in both the retiring  ink caddy as well as the Stamp-n-Storage Ink Storage.

Stampin' Up! Ink

And that's not all, there's more.  Stampin' Up! has added a defoamer to cut down on bubbling and to give you a more even coating of ink on your stamp for a smoother more solid look.  And if that's not enough, Stampin' Up! has designed a smaller label to insert inside your pad, so that you can easily identify your pads when there are multiples on your work surface.

Note:  We will no longer carry Archival inks, so the old Basic Gray Ink Refill should not be used on the new Classic Ink Basic Gray.  For Black Inks there are 2 options-Jet Black Stazon and Tuxedo Black Momentos Inks.  Use Stazon for watercoloring and use Momento for coloring with Blender Pens.

Clarifications on ReInkers-You can use old reinkers on your new pads with the exception of archival inks, but you will loose the defoamer advantage.   You can also use new reinker on your old pads and gain the defoamer advantage.

Birthday Wit One Layer Humorous Birthday Card

We Must Celebrate Stampin' Up!

Hello Friends,

We can't always be serious.  Today's card edges over to the humorous side.  I combined 3 different stamp sets to make it happen.  The Birthday Wit stamp set and the We Must Celebrate stamp set  play a starting role.  And the Picture Perfect Birthday plays a supporting role.

Splitcoast Stampers Color Challenge
The upcoming Stampin' Up! OnStage Event means that I will have a new catalog in my hot little hands this weekend and that has me wondering if we will have a much needed color refresh.  I love color and it's been 5 years since the last refresh.  We know that the 2016-2018 In Colors will be going.  Will other colors be replaced too?

Anyway, Mary from Splitcoast Stampers Color Challenge has chosen this beautiful color combination for this week's Color Challenge.  Do you recognize the colors?  They are from left to right-Flirty Flamingo, Island Indigo and Pool Party.  Won't you join us for this week's color challenge at Splitcoast Stampers Color Challenge?

We Must Celebrate Stampin' Up!

I colored the little "We Must Celebrate" animals with a combination of Watercolor Pencils, Ink and blender pens.  Along with the stamped confetti, I added Tutti-frutti self-adhesive sequins and Glitter & Clear Epoxy Shapes.

image from www.stampinup.comOne thing that I know that's going for sure and for certain is the anything that includes the 2016-2018 In Colors.  I highly recommend stocking up now on inks, ink refills and card stock, because once the Retirement list is announced these things could be gone in the blink of an eye.

Have a fabulous day,

Springtime Foil Easter Card

Handmade Easter Card

Hello Friends,

Happy Friday!  Can you believe that Easter is a mere 3 weeks away?  My new Springtime Foil paper was calling out to me, so I thought that I would make an Easter Card with the Springtime Foil Paper.  This paper is lovely beyond words and it is so fun to color.

Cross of Hope Stampin' Up!

Other Card Details

Since it's an Easter Card, I thought that the cross and the  banner dies from the Cross of Hope Framelits Dies would work well.  The "Happy Easter" stamp is from the You're Inspiring stamp set that we used on yesterday's stack of cards.  I cut a Peekaboo Peach Stitched Shapes Circle to back the whole thing.  Just for fun I added an Old Olive Scallop Edge along the bottom of my Springtime Foil Paper.   I used a die from the Popcorn Box dies to make my scallops.

Coloring on Springtime Foil Paper

I'm having so, so much fun coloring on the Springtime Foil Paper.  Would you like to see a new coloring and blending video?

Stampin' Blends Potential Backorder

Over the last couple of months, Stampin' Up! has seen a dramatic increase in the sales of Stampin’ Blends, which is wonderful—we're using them and loving them!

Unfortunately, the quick increase in sales, along with a long lead time from our supplier in China, and the temporary shutdown of all factories in China for the government-mandated Chinese New Year holiday, has created a perfect storm for backorders. In the next coming weeks, Stampin' Up! anticipates that approximately 14 of our current 27-color Stampin’ Blends collection will go on backorder until the end of April.

  • Bermuda Bay (Light and Dark)
  • Bronze
  • Calypso Coral (Dark)
  • Crumb Cake (Light and Dark)
  • Ivory
  • Pink Pirouette (Light and Dark)
  • Pool Party (Light and Dark – currently on backorder)
  • Pumpkin Pie (Dark)
  • Smoky Slate (Light and Dark)

If you have been thinking about purchasing some Stampin' Blends, now's the time.  Get Your Blends before they go on backorder.
