Have you ever made a Shadow Box Card. Learn how to make a Shadow Box Card with today's picture tutorial. To make my Card Elements, I used Animal Outing and Tropical Chic stamp sets.
Stay tuned, in the upcoming weeks I'll do a Shadow Box Cardbvideo tutorial too.
The big surprise with a Shadow Box Card is in the inside. The front looks like an ordinary card, but open it up and Ooh, La La! The Shadow Box Card pops up in grand style.
Did I mention that your Postman will love these homemade cards, because they fold flat and slide into an envelope?
How to Make a Shadow Box Card
Start with two 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" pieces of card stock.
For the outer layer score as usual at 4-1/4"
For the inner layer or box, score at 1/2", 4-1/4" and 4-3/4".
Cut your window with a circle, oval, square or rectangle die between the 1/2" and 4-1/4" score lines. I used the second largest Oval from the Layering Ovals Thinlits Dies.
Save the oval to use an element for the front of your card. I also cut a Tranquil Tied Oval with the largest oval die in the Layering Ovals Thinlits Dies.
Cut 1/2" off the back side of your card, so that the front is 1/2" bigger than the back side.
Next, I stamped elements with my Animal Outing and Tropical Chic Stamp Set. The greenery was stamped with Tranquil Tide and Shaded Spruce Inks. Then color with light Mint Macaron and Soft Sea foam Stampin' Blends. To make the pretty two-toned flowers, I inked the flower with Mango Melody Ink, then with my sponge dauber, I added Flirty Flamingo ink to the edges of my Flowers. I also cut several Soft Sea Foam Fronds
